I should be signing a lease for studio space to start teaching (hopefully later this week - fingers crossed!) and then I will be starting to promote the classes. This is completely new territory for me. I'm excited and scared and nervous and overjoyed all at the same time. It's a trip! But at least now I'm able to move forward and start getting organized to get started.
I'll be teaching belly dance using the method I learned from Sausan - the Egyptian Dance CodeR. I've been talking to Sausan the best way to do this - I now have the flyers and materials and have to get that organized. Basically, I'll be licensing her materials and using those in my classes.
For the next few months, in addition to promoting the classs, I have to refresh my memory about what I'm teaching. I do these movements so often - I'll have to remember what they are called. And when I'm in San Francisco next time, I may want to sit in on one of her classes to remind myself how she teaches. I'll also have to go through my videos of dancers so I can share with them the nuances of Egyptian dance that I've been carefully observing for about 5 years now. This will be fun in some respects - I'll have a new group of women with whom I can share this information.
